MASON — The schedule for the annual Upper Mason Parish Lenten Luncheons has been announced, with all luncheons to be held at the Mason United Methodist Church.

The first event will be held Feb. 22 with Pastor Donnie Dye speaking. Food will be provided by the Fairview Bible Church.

Remaining luncheon dates, speakers, and the church preparing the food include:

Feb. 29, Pastor Dave Barr, Union Charge;

March 7, Pastor Rob Grady, New Haven/Graham;

March 14, Pastor Josh Waybright, Faith Baptist Church;

March 21, Pastor Jason Simpkins, Northbend Church.

Lent begins on Feb. 14 with Ash Wednesday. It is a Christian observance that commemorates the 40 days Jesus Christ spent fasting, and leads up to Easter.
