POINT PLEASANT — Saturday was the last day for candidates to file for the May primary, with county, state and national offices up for grabs.
County Races
County Clerk Diana Cromley provided Mason County Extra Edition with the latest candidate filings received by her office as of the close of business on Monday, Jan. 29.
Included below, along with the candidate’s name, are party affiliation and the district the candidate has filed under (where applicable).

To reiterate, candidate filing ran through Jan. 27. In addition to in-person filing during special office hours this past Saturday, candidates could also file via a mailed certificate of announcement which had to be postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 27. Cromley relayed to Mason County Extra Edition that no certificates were received via mail on Monday, Jan. 29.
The primary election in West Virginia is May 14, followed by the general election Nov. 5.
