Harvest of Quilts winners recognized

POINT PLEASANT — The 35th Harvest of Quilts, held during the annual Country Fall Festival at the West Virginia State Farm Museum, recently recognized its winners.

According to a news release sent on behalf of the Mason County Community Educational Outreach Service (CEOS), there were 30 quilt entries in four different categories. Plus, 15 uncompleted quilt block entries were showcased, each embracing the theme “Quilting Bee.”

The news release also stated the show saw a “large attendance” this year, especially on Saturday of the festival.

The following is a list of winners:

Winning Best of Show was Agnes Faber with her Monterey Madallion. 

Winners in Category A, Large Quilts, Hand Quilted were: First Place, Daleanna Langford for Many Minis; Second Place, Sally Stapleton for Necktie Quilt; Third Place, Katie Litchfield for Blue Fan.

Winners in Category B, Large Quilts, Machine Quilted, were: First place, Agnes Faber for Monterey Madallion; Second Place, Katie Litchfield for Fire Bargello; Third Place, Catherine Yauger for The Garden Club.

Winners in Category C, Small Quilts, Hand Quilted were: First Place, Carolyn Litchfield for Grandma’s Pitcher; Second Place, Katie Litchfield for Blue Fan Shams; Third Place Daleanna Langford for Quilt Guild Signatures.

Winners in Category D, Small Quilts, Machine Quilted were: First Place, Roswitha Dubois for Chicken; Second Place, Roswitha Dubois for Tractor; Third Place, Roswitha Dubois for Dresden Plate.

Winners in the Single Block Category “The Quilting Bee” were: First Place, Cindy Litchfield; Second Place, Frankie Bumgarner; Third Place Daleanna Langford.
