Tractor Show/Parade, Main Street Car Show, Valley Fire & Rescue 50th, kick off weekend events in Mason County

MASON COUNTY — The West Virginia State Farm Museum’s annual Tractor Show and Parade, the return of the Main Street Point Pleasant Car Show, and the Valley Fire & Rescue’s 50th anniversary celebration, all highlight a weekend of events in Mason County. In addition, Praise Along the River at Riverfront Park in Point Pleasant, and free admission to the Splash Pad at Krodel Park on Saturday, are also on a busy events calendar.

Saturday, July 22

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The Tractor Show and Parade held at the West Virginia State Farm Museum starts at 10 a.m. with the show and parade registration; at 10:30 a.m. the Pedal Tractor Pull beings; at noon, the annual Tractor Parade leaves the museum for the route. The actual parade route is 17 miles long through Point Pleasant, travels Sandhill Road and heads backs to the Museum grounds. All types of tractors and equipment are welcome. Tractors must maintain 10 mph to participate in the parade. Also happening on Saturday, the Country Kitchen opens for breakfast at 9 a.m., featuring homemade cinnamon rolls. The country store and grounds will also be open to the public during the event.

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The 2023 Main Street Point Pleasant Car Show returns to fill downtown with classic, current, and unique vehicles, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is from 10 a.m. to noon.; $10 registration per car. Awards presented at 2 p.m. Trophies, door prizes, 100 dash plaques. Three motorcycle trophies this year. Mason VFW Post #9926 will also be at the show for its annual recruiting and Poppy Donation Drive. Food vendors will be available.

APPLE GROVE, W.Va. — Valley Fire & Rescue will celebrate 50 years serving the community, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the station house on Huntington Road, along W.Va. Route 2. Food trucks, demonstrations, a dunk tank, firefighter combat challenge, inflatables and live music. Musical performances by Jesse Crawford, Tyler Sharp, Bretton Casto, Robert Trippett and the Starlight Band. Free cotton candy. All local residents are welcome.

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Free admission to the Splash Pad at Krodel Park, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., sponsored by Pink Tree Photography.

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Waterfront Farmers Market, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesdays and Saturdays, April – October, near the Fourth Street entrance of Riverfront Park. Hosted by Main Street Point Pleasant. Follow the market on Facebook for updates.

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — “Praise Along the River” is set for 7 p.m., this Sunday, July 23 at Riverfront Park. Featuring speakers and music, this event, originally set for July 2, was rescheduled due to weather. The event is organized by the City of Point Pleasant and is traditionally a kickoff event to Liberty Fest activities. For more information, check out our story here.
