SPRINGFIELD, OHIO — Five Point Pleasant Junior/Senior High School hurlers succeeded this past weekend at the AAU Region 4 Qualifier in Springfield, Ohio, and have qualified for the Junior Olympic Games.

Caleb Jones, Robbie Hall, Hannah Baker, Shelby Plants, and Kylee Layton all earned placements that qualified them for the Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines, Iowa, in a few weeks. The top six in each event qualify for the event.

“I pushed for our throwers to go throw this summer,” said Coach Dave Darst. “It just gets them more practice time and will improve them in the long run. I am proud of them all.”

Jones – a junior at PPHS – earned third place in the 15-16 shot put with a 41-07.00 throw. This was the only event that he competed in.
